Biography

Michael Owusu-Amoako is a seasoned legal practitioner and public sector professional with extensive experience spanning legal practice, public administration, governance and institutional management. His distinctive combination of legal knowledge and more than two decades of senior public sector experience enables him to provide clients with practical, strategic and commercially informed legal advice.

He has particular expertise in Family Law, Administrative Law and Public Sector Law, with experience advising on matters involving public institutions, regulatory compliance, administrative decision-making, governance and institutional processes. His practice also benefits from his extensive understanding of Ghana’s decentralised governance system and the legal and administrative frameworks within which public institutions operate.

Mr. Owusu-Amoako currently serves as Chief Director of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, having previously held senior positions including Chief Director, Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Municipal Coordinating Director and District Coordinating Director. In these capacities, he has provided strategic leadership in policy implementation, institutional management, regulatory compliance, resource administration and public sector development.

His legal and professional background is supported by an LLB, LLM in Tax Law, Policy and Practice, MBA, and postgraduate qualifications in Public Administration.

With a strong appreciation of both the law and the institutional realities within which it operates, Mr. Owusu-Amoako brings a practical, solution-oriented and strategic approach to legal practice.
